About Me
Hi! My name is Ashton and I am currently a senior year at Watkins Memorial High School. I enjoy math and science, but also helping others learn. I began dual enrollment courses in math as a freshman, taking both College Algebra and Precalculus through Ohio University. Beginning my sophomore year, I started taking courses at the Ohio State University and have successfully completed Statistics, Calculus 1,2,3 and Linear Algebra as well as both Algebra and Calculus based Physics courses, plus General Chemistry. I found throughout these courses that I was very good in identifying patterns from multiple perspectives, which enables me to find where other students are struggling and break down challenging concepts.

I have used tutoring myself on multiple occasions to fill in gaps in my understanding and to develop the necessary skills I need to be successful. Recognizing the impact of tutoring early in my math career, especially in solidifying understanding and good habits, inspired me to offer tutoring to my peers. Beginning my junior year, I was hired and trained as a math tutor at OSU Newark where I gained experience working with students from diverse backgrounds with unique learning challenges such as ADHD, dyscalculia, and autism.
Hearing parents and younger peers share their anxiety and hopelessness in being unprepared for high school math inspired me to offer private tutoring to help students fill in holes in their math and science foundation resulting from the pandemic. All of my tutoring clients have passed required State Tests and improved by a letter grade or more.

Parents of accelerated students in rigorous or advanced math programs at schools including St. Charles, New Albany, and Westerville have utilized my tutoring services to help their students catch up after illnesses, solidify challenging concepts, and prep for high stakes exams. I believe my ability to recognize how my clients feel enables me to connect with them, reduce anxiety surrounding math and testing, and help improve their confidence. I genuinely care about each client and am invested in their success whether it is in Algebra 1, Calculus, or Chemistry, or anything else.
I am especially sensitive to students with mental health challenges and good at reducing frustration and communicating with my clients as well as their parents.

Ryan's Mom, New Albany
"Ryan's teacher just said that the, "school got back the state test results and that Ryan did amazing! He got an 'advanced' on it, and showed a ton of growth!"
We owe it all to Ashton - please let him know how grateful we are. He's incredible and I hope he knows he is changing people's lives for the better."
Jackson's Mom, Gahanna
"Just wanted to report to Ashton that Jackson got a great score on his final. For him that is amazing and we are very, very thankful to Ashton! Math has been really hard for Jackson and having Ashton help this year has been awesome!!"
Blake's Mom, Westerville
"Blake said it was helpful with Honors Algebra 2 to have Ashton. Ashton helped Blake to figure something out that Blake didn't realize he didn't understand. I think it helped that he enjoyed working with a peer more than he would have with a teacher."
